The broader impacts of the City Tech I³ Incubator have implications for teaching, research, and workforce development. Using the STEM laboratory as a tool for institutional transformation is a cross-cutting innovation that should provide other institutions, including MSIs and other under-resourced public institutions that serve underrepresented populations, with a model for renewing and con­temporizing STEM programs. The Case Study method featured in the creation of interdisciplinary STEM lab curricula across departments is scalable and adaptable to a wide variety of institutional settings. City Tech has a constellation of peer institutions with which we work through the NSF MRI program, the PKAL Interdisciplinary Initiative, the CUNY Black Male Initiative, and peer NSF ADVANCE institutions for whom our I³ Incubator may provide inspiration.
